Greenberg Traurig Renews Miami Lease
Greenberg Traurig, an internationally renowned law firm, has committed to a significant lease renewal spanning 128,450 square feet, marking the largest office deal in Miami's central business district in recent years.
The lease agreement covers five floors within the LEED Gold & Energy Star Certified, 47-story office building located at 333 SE 2nd Ave in Miami. The property is owned by MetLife, one of the world's leading providers of insurance, annuities, and employee benefit programs, with a vast customer base spanning over 90 million individuals across more than 60 countries. MetLife's headquarters are situated in New York City.
Founded in Miami in 1967, Greenberg Traurig is a multinational law and lobbying firm that has grown to become one of the top ten largest law firms in the United States as of 2022.
This substantial leasing activity reflects the burgeoning demand for premium office spaces in South Florida, with the Wells Fargo Center as a prime example. Over the past nine months, the office tower has witnessed leasing transactions exceeding 250,000 square feet, boosting the building's occupancy rate to an impressive 93%. Kaseya, another notable tenant, secured over 100,000 square feet at the Wells Fargo Center in January.
For the record, Greenberg Traurig, which boasts a roster of over 150 lawyers in its Miami office, was represented by Michael Shuler, Jeremy Hakala, and Clay Sidner from Newmark. On the landlord's side, an affiliate of MetLife, representation was provided by Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman, Lena Weeks, Jeannette Mendoza, Andrew Trench, and Edward Quinon from Cushman & Wakefield.
